God Loves, Man Kills

The fear
The trepidation to difference
The wiry, sinewy madness that underpins the making of man
Leading to envy in the individual epoch
Leading to hate
To distaste
danger
disillusion
deceit
The bloodletting
preordained by the bloodlust of lineage.
The reverence
The devotion on parade for the pious
The scrubbing and brushing
The rinsing and bubbling away what's troubling
The washing, doting, bible toting and foreboding
Of sin carried out by the incensed
Pestilence festering, flaring up the gun
Dancing with delight to overtake the internal crucible
Lo!
Tell me the ways in which
Souls will burn and hearts will twist
Bones
Will be but a snack that snaps crackles and pops
As contorting tongues are tangled,
Mangled and dangled as tentpoles for the treacherous
Lo!
Instruct these unwashed masses
Manage the menagerie of hedonism you condemn
While reveling in your own bastardization
Tell me the ways that all life matters
and we love our neighbors
and tithes tether to the father
and we should leave the world to save our soul
As you sentence and kill your neighbors, who are undeserving of love?
And snatch
And claw
And tear
From the impoverished, whom we should break bread
For the house of a Falwell
But all is well.
Consume and crush
Burn with the brush
Those who drown in half-hearted hope in their lows
Tell me the ways that God loves his children as you burn crosses, homes, beds with resting bodies
Roasting bodies in your inflicted flames of hell on earth and after.
God loves
Creates pearly gates that you
Misconstrue and send others to.
God loves
Accepts your free will
The same ones you hunt by car light as they whimper and run
God loves
So they took his sacrosanct son
